 Skyfest & Paddy’s Day
After a couple of extremely hectic weeks both Paddy’s Day and National Lottery’s Skyfest are done and dusted
! On Paddy’s Day, Buí Bolg performed their interpretation of Roddy Doyle’s new short story “Brilliant” to an audience of about half a million! We’ve heard through the grape vine Roddy Doyle was quite impressed, particularly with our Wellington boot monument!
Two days later we braved the elements to perform on Wexford’s marina for Skyfest, where we were televised live around the country, performing as fireworks erupted overhead. It was mmmagical!
Massive thanks to Buí Bolg’s Youth Group, Martina Leacy Dance Academy, Sheila-Grace Dance, Elizabeth Rose Browne, Jacare and Anaspitos, who wowed audiences across Ireland with their performances at the events. Word on the street is it was “Brilliant”! (Never gets old..)

Final Run of Lay Me Down Softly
Billy Roche’s play ‘Lay Me Down Softly’ is coming to the end of it’s run at the Project Arts Centre in Dublin. The final showing
at this venue takes place Saturday 2nd April at 8.00 PM. We’ve been delighted with the media reaction to the play, especially with the praise for our set and costume design (credit due to Fionnuala Mc Mullin and Frances White respectively!)
“A Quiet Gem..Superb ensemble performances..beautiful writing and box clever directing .. a joy to watch . Exquisite set & lighting” The View – RTE1
“Hugely imaginative set by Bui Bolg .Roche's fine writing presents a peek inside an unseen world” Sunday Business Post
Buí Bolg’s entire set is designed as a boxing ring contained in the circus tent, slipping the audience into the dark lonely world of Delaney’s Travelling Road Show. Watch the action unfold from ring side seats one last time!
