 Bui Bolg on BBC World
BBC World News and Two Four Group are making a series of documentaries on Festivals around the world called "Great Events", and of course Ireland’s St. Patrick’s Festival was selected! St. Patrick’s Festival chose
Bui Bolg’s very own Eddie Milbourne McCarthy to narrate the programme and in turn Bolg had the great honour of being documented by the BBC World in the always exciting (terrifying and dramatic) run up to Paddy’s Day! The programme features the workshop, rehearsals, staff meetings (Yikes!) and the Bui Bolg Youth Group, as well as some beautiful shots of Wexford . . . and the St. Patrick’s Parade
of course!
Bui Bolg were extremely proud to be involved in this programme and are delighted that the channel is watched by over 75 million people!

 Lisburn Lord Mayor's Parade
Bui Bolg have been commissioned yet again to create three special centrepieces for the Lisburn Lord Mayors Parade in conjunction with Street Wise Circus
from Belfast. The theme this year is based on Lagan Life and incorporates all aspects of the community which has sprung up along the banks of the Lagan. The Bui Bolg
pieces include: A Spinning wheel; Lisburn renowned for its linen industry was the centre of this artform for many years. A Leaping Salmon; Once a prodigious inhabitant of the Lagan the salmon suffered from the rapid industrialisation of this busy river and died out. It has now been reintroduced and is prospering once again. And finally a Canal Barge complete with brass band; A section of this river was directed into a canal through the heart of Lisburn. Upon the opening of the canal over 200 years ago a brass band played down it on board a beautiful barge.

 Bui Bolg Youth Group
The Bui Bolg Youth Group recently teamed up with Circus Gerbola
for World Circus Day on the 17th of April. When Circus Gerbola visited Wexford to entertain the masses they rekindled their relationship with Bui Bolg to offer a once in a life time opportunity to run an aerial and circus skills workshop for the lucky Bui Bolg Youth Group members. The BBYG were treated to master classes in silks, trampolining, stilt walking and even spinning plates!
All had a fantastic day when Bui Bolg ran away with the Circus!
